"Sir, where are we going?" I couldn’t help asking, on a KMB bus with the Chem teacher, 'Mum said don’t follow strangers to places. You are not 100% a stranger but…”
"We are h...h...heading to my lab." He answered, "Also, don't call me Sir. I have a doctorate.
“Call me Dr. Brown.”

The bus was travelling on the crowded Jordan Road. At 7 pm, people who had finished a day of work flock to the sides of the road. Some were in skirts, some were in mini-skirts, some were in short pants... nevertheless, some were carrying a suitcase, some were carrying a bag of vegies and fish. Where were they heading to? What were they thinking? Despite the distance of a few metres, I didn’t have a clue. Stephen Hawkings those big scientists always talk about universes, black holes, planets... ironically, we know how the star-PK743 moves in the outer space but don't have a single idea what a man in arm-length is thinking.
"Take off the bus, Larkin."
I hesitated for a split-second who the hell Larkin is, and then I took off the bus.
The lab was in an old Chinese building on the cross road of Jordon Road and Nathan Road, diagonally opposite to the 裕華國貨.

Passing through the crowd, we entered the old building.
