移英港人 Kana，走到世界盡頭返工

Kana 於2022年移居英國，並在去年年底經朋友介紹，前往南極郵輪工作，成為一名極地探險導遊及翻譯員。

「我覺得香港有七百萬人，能夠踏足南極的人已經不多，更何況是在那裡工作，所以我一直覺得很榮幸能以香港人的身份代表參與其中。」她初次體驗後便深深著迷。雖然明白極地工作未必穩定，但在慎重考慮後，Kana 決定放棄原本穩定的全職工作，在伴侶的支持下，毅然投身極地導遊的行列，全心投入這份獨特而充滿挑戰的工作。

Kana relocated to the UK in 2022. Late last year, through a friend’s recommendation, she landed an unexpected opportunity to work as an expedition guide and translator on an Antarctic cruise.
“With over seven million people in Hong Kong, not many have set foot in Antarctica—let alone worked there,” she said. “That’s why I feel incredibly honoured to represent Hong Kong in such a remote part of the world.”

Her first journey to the icy continent left a lasting impression. Despite knowing that polar expedition work can be unpredictable and seasonal, Kana made the bold decision to leave behind her stable full-time job. With the support of her partner, she committed fully to life as a polar guide—a role she describes as both challenging and deeply rewarding.
