[Press Release: HKNP attending in Japan the inaugural meeting of the World Conference for Southern Mongolia]
HKNP's convenor Chan Ho-tin and spokesman Jason Chow Ho-fai were invited to attend the Inaugural Meeting of the World Conference for Southern Mongolia ("Quriltai") in Chambers of the House of Councilors in the National Diet Building in Tokyo on 10th November. During the same visit, the HKNP will also attend the Forum on East Asia Democratisation and the South Mongolia Issue on 11-12th November, and will put forward Hong Kong's case on national independence and East Asian human rights. This modern "Quriltai", derived from the Mongolian term for an assembly of chiefs and khans, is formed by Mongolian political parties and organisations that are currently in exile. By uniting under one banner, the Quriltai hopes to negotiate and cooperate with other Uyghur, Tibetan, Taiwanese, and Chinese human rights organisations. The Hong Kong National Party shall meet with the chairman of the Inner Mongolian People's Party, Temtsiltu Shobtsood. Other attendees include the Japanese representative of the World Uyghur Congress, Tibetan human rights activists in exile, and Taiwanese scholars. It was the greatest of honours that we, the HKNP, was invited to such an occasion, an invaluable opportunity to learn from such experienced political leaders the ways and methods towards national independence and safeguarding human rights.
The main aim of the conference was to witness the establishment of the "Quriltai" — a unified international platform for all Mongolian political parties and national organisations, with its founding goal declared as the international exposure of the problems caused by Chinese colonialism in Mongolia. Under the ongoing Chinese colonial regime, Southern Mongolia endures not only both population and cultural cleansing, but also the systematic exploitation by the Hans of Mongolian farmland, rare earth, and mines. The Chinese colonial regime also dumped nuclear wastes on Mongolian land, posing a potentially lethal threat to all Mongolians and their offspring. Hada, an activist for Southern Mongolian self-determination, was robbed of his human rights by the Chinese Communists in 1996, when he was jailed for 15 years under the excuses of "espionage", "separatism", and "organising counter-revolutionary forces". The Mongolians are not the only ones being oppressed using the ideology of "Pan-Zhonghua-ism". The Manchus, Huis, and Tibetans have, likewise, missed their chance for national self-determination, and fell into the trap of "Pan-Zhonghua-ism", having the label "Chinese" forced upon them, the "Chinese language" pressed upon their tongues, and the Hans imported into their lands. Now they are all second-class citizens within this politically constructed umbrella "Zhonghua Race", suffering from the daily colonial oppression from the hands of the PRC.
What these ethnic minorities are facing should not be held as a foreign and impossible threat to us Hong Kongers. The same systematic cleansing of population, replacement of cultures, and exploitation of resources are exactly the Chinese vices we are witnessing now in Hong Kong. The recent "interpretation" of the Basic Law by the NPCSC saw the wilful destruction of Hong Kong's separation of powers. We see, as well, how pro-independence Hong Kongers are increasingly being branded as "separatists" and "foreign spies". Such accusations may seem ridiculous to us now, but the accusers are showing no signs of insincerity in their attacks. With that said, the Inner Mongolian and other political leaders have not shown any signs of giving up their own independence. The Hong Kong nation should thus, when there is still time, seize the day when Hong Kong's advantages yet still exist, and prepare ourselves to face the ever increasing efforts of our Chinese colonisers. We must be all the more vigilant, as the hour and our enemy draws nearer, and our ranks must be ever the more bolstered by fellow Hong Kongers, awakened to the threat at hand. The victory for national independence will not come easily, and the fight will be doubly difficult against a regime as unjust as the Chinese. The HKNP shall stand shoulder to shoulder with all Hong Kongers in our long but inevitable march towards national freedom and independence.
The HKNP hereby congratulates yet again the establishment of the Quriltai. We shall learn from their valuable experience and make the case for Hong Kong's national independence grow ever the stronger. On the same trip, the HKNP has also seized the opportunity to meet with pro-independence and pro-democracy Hong Kongers currently in Japan, and called for all Overseas Hong Kongers to lend their support to the cause of Hong Kong Independence. The fates of Hong Kong, Southern Mongolia, Tibet, and East Turkestan are as if a rough cliff — on it are we all chained in colonial captivity, and our lands, cultures, and resources are pecked away day by day by the Chinese foul. And yet, the HKNP knows, that one day, when the pro-national-independence leaders of our peoples meet again, it shall be as a diplomatic conference between nations, when we all have attained freedom from the Chinese colonists.
