Netherlands great Johan Cruyff dies of cancer aged 68

Netherlands great Johan Cruyff has died of cancer aged 68, his official website announces.

The site said he was surrounded by friends and family in Barcelona.

The three-time Ballon d'Or winner was told of his illness in October.

Cruyff won three consecutive European Cups with Ajax as a player and went on to manage Barcelona to their first European Cup win in 1992.
