廣東省廣州市花都數千名市民上午在區政府外集會，抗議當局在花都區獅嶺鎮前進村興建垃圾焚化爐。示威者舉起抗議橫幅，又高叫口號，要求將焚化項目撤出整個花都，大量防暴特警到場戒備。[#FF0000]期間有部份示威者情緒激動，推倒鐵馬，用木棍擊打公安封鎖線、又向防線投擲石塊；警方則用盾牌隔開示威者後，用警棍回擊，有示威者頭部流血。[/#FF0000]

有網友於傍晚發微博稱，警方趁示威者於陸續離開時，突然以暴動名義打人。及至晚上8時許，更有人發微博指，已有1名年輕人死亡，另有5人受傷。
