Radiohead新album會Feature Justin Bieber???!!!!
Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood recently revealed that the iconic British alternative/ progressive rock band will be heading back into the studio to record their ninth album in September, exciting their tens of millions of fans worldwide. But according to the band’s celebrated producer, Nigel Godrich, there’s one surprise on the new album that said fans might not be altogether pleased with: [#ff0011]Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber will make a brief cameo in one of the songs.[/#ff0011]
In an interview published Monday by British magazine Mojo, Godrich said the band had reached “an agreement with Bieber’s people” that would have him sing background during the chorus of a song, which is tentatively titled “Silicon.” The song, penned by Radiohead lead singer Thom Yorke, “focuses largely on pop culture, and how there’s something real there, buried down beneath the plastic bulls–t they coat everything with over in America,” Godrich says.
“We’re going to have [Bieber] in on the track, and he’ll be singing in the chorus bit, and there won’t be auto-tuning or anything. It’ll be real, and raw, and genuine,” Godrich explains. “[#ff0011]And it’s all to illustrate that bigger point, you know, about how we perceive this kid to be talentless and obnoxious, and perhaps he is, but there’s something real about him as well. There’s something real about all of us, even if we do try our best at times to hide from that.[/#ff0011]”
As for dishing out any additional details about Radiohead’s upcoming album, Godrich remained tight-lipped. “There isn’t much on paper as of yet. The guys are getting together in September, and they’ll screw around and get some writing in, and we’ll see where it goes from there.”
While Godrich wouldn’t give out any hints as to what this new Radiohead album might contain, Mojo claims they did manage to find a copy of a delivery invoice for the Oxford, UK studio where they’ll be working, which included twelve hand-crafted African drums, a vintage Moog synthesizer, and a “rare bicycle bell, c. 1923.” What these items will be used for is anyone’s guess, but when it comes to Radiohead albums, the sky is usually the limit.
